Following the information about crypto scams involving Team McAfee member, alleged to be “Zeeshan Najeeb”, Block Asia contacted “McAfee” via email for clarification on the issues.
In what seems to be a reply from “McAfee”, he denounced any knowledge or relations to the “Zeeshan Najeeb” scams, replying in an email to Block Asia, “No truth to it. We fired an employee – Zeeshan Najeeb and after being fired attempted to scam people under our name.”
As mentioned in previous articles, Najeeb’s name and picture were taken down from the McAfee Crypto Team website but no official announcement about his removal from the team was made.
Block Asia has also successfully contacted Zeeshan Najeeb to get his clarifications on the matter. According to Najeeb, he is innocent and his identity was stolen in order to carry out the scam.
In the email, Najeeb mentioned “I am a victim of identity theft. I have no knowledge on blockchain or crypto and neither I am an investor. I have no ties with anyone named John mcafee neither we have scammee anyone.”
Claiming to not know who McAfee is, Zeeshan Najeeb questions whether McAfee carries out any due diligence prior to hiring the alleged “Zeeshan Najeeb” to ensure the person he hired was the real Najeeb and not an imposter.
The question for McAfee is, has he even met this “Zeeshan Najeeb” in person? Does he have anything to validate the identity of this person?
Block Asia intends to further investigate and seek clarifications from parties involved and uncover the truth so as to prevent more individuals from being victims of crypto scams.
