Google is allegedly poaching Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, to join their team.
In the original post on Reddit, Buterin posted a Twitter poll on 20 May, asking his followers if he should “drop Ethereum” and “work for Google” instead.
Buterin has since deleted the tweet, probably due to to infringement of privacy rights since the recruiter’s name, e-mail address and display picture were revealed in his screenshot.
Before the deletion of the tweet, the poll garnered over 2,000 responses, majority voting for Buterin to remain in Ethereum. Many users felt that his skillset and talent were far too valuable to be “caged in” the mega corporation.
Google has been actively participating in blockchain-related projects, professing interest in the technology. In March, Google announced plans to launch 2 separate blockchain projects – a “tamper-proof” auditing scheme and a cloud operations system, CoinDesk reported.
