Coindesk, a digital media, events, and information services company for the cryptocurrency and blockchain community, has today announced that it will be partnering with Knect365’s premier TechXLR8 event series to launch the inaugural edition of Consensus: Singapore this year. After four years of organising Consensus in New York City (NYC), CoinDesk has selected Singapore as the destination for its first international event. The event will be held on September 18-20, 2018, and registration will officially open Monday, May 14th.
Started in 2015 by CoinDesk, the annual Consensus event held in NYC in May has become the biggest industry event of the year. An estimated 8,500 are attending CoinDesk’s Consensus 2018 this week in New York City, according to Barry Silbert, CEO and founder of parent company Digital Currency Group. The number of attendees has more than tripled from 2017’s crowd of 2700.
The Consensus: Singapore event marks a pivotal moment for the series as it expands to a market that has embraced blockchain technology in short order across both the private and public sectors.
“Consensus NYC has become the can’t-miss blockchain industry event of the year, and I couldn’t be more proud of the CoinDesk team in making this all a possibility,” said CoinDesk CEO Kevin Worth in a statement to public relations agency Wachsman.
“Blockchain technology has fostered a truly global community, and we are excited to expand our event presence internationally. TechXLR8 has done a fantastic job with its events, and is the perfect partner for this new endeavor.”
