Taking integration of blockchain technology at a new level, a Taiwan based consumer electronics company, HTC is working on launching world’s first blockchain phone, HTC Exodus.
The company said that the device will have wallet integrated in the phone that will support various coins and will be the first phone dedicated to decentralized applications and security.
The wallet named a universal wallet will support cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dfinity, and Lightning Networks Plus.
However, the company will be adding more cryptocurrency and is working on it, which will be released soon as soon as the development of the devices move further.
Speaking on this, HTC’s creator of virtual reality headset Vive, Phil Chen said that that company would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the next few months we’ll be announcing many more exciting partnerships together.
However, the company did not disclosed the price and when the device will be in the market.
Chen said that the phone is the most prevalent device in this world. It will act as the hub and agent of decentralization. It will enable a completely new class and paradigm of interactions, from games to messaging to wallets.
Apart from HTC, Switzerland based Sirin Labs has also announced in September 2017 that it will be launching a blockchain smartphone, Finney which is slated to launch in October 2018.

The device will be capable of working without using an exchange to convert digital currencies and will let users shop on sites such as Expedia.
Another feature will allow users to turn their phones into personal hotspots that can be rented out for digital tokens.
HTC raked in a net profit of about $710 million after tax deduction, the company said in a statement.
