On September 21, French news agency LesEcho.fr reported of The French Government’s plans to build a legal framework for each and everyone, that are providing “digital assets”.
The propose came from the President Emmanuel Macron’s party, (La République En Marche (LREM), where three members proposed for the regulations to cover the all kind of activities and providers among the cryptocurrency industry.
The further discussions in the National Assembly will be held during the end of this month.
The request was put on a table by three MPs of LREM, Eric Bothorel, Valeria Faure-Muntian and Christine Hennion. The aim is to extend the current legal framework so that the France’s main stock regulator, Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) will be able to approve all the participants at the crypto markets.
As said in LesEcho.fr:
“Each actor will be free to ask for it. But it is clear that obtaining this license will be a guarantee of credibility and seriousness.”
Recently, the the AMF got the rights to license companies that are related to Initial Coin Offerings (ICO’s), aiming to tempt the global investors to enter the French markets.
